Daytona Beach Symphony Society

Special to Seniors Today

The Daytona Beach Symphony Society continues its 72nd season with a performance of Kiev Virtuosi Symphony Orchestray, Wed., Mar. 20 at the Peabody Auditorium, 600 Auditorium Blvd., Daytona Beach.

Grammy Nominated cellist/conductor Dmitry Yablonsky has been Chief Conductor of Kiev Soloists for three years before deciding to organize a renovated orchestra, Kiev Virtuosi.

All musicians were hand-picked to join this exclusive ensemble, and immediate success was obvious. All concerts in Kiev are performed to a sold-out audience. Musicians in Kiev Virtuosi are the best chamber music players and professional soloists who performed all over the world, from Paris to Japan and from London to San Francisco, not to mention many countries in South Am-erica and Australia.

In addition to the intense activity as a chamber orchestra, Kiev Virtuosi is also a symphony orchestra that is very in demand for special projects. In the summer of 2016, The Kiev Virtuosi chamber orchestra and Kiev Virtuosi Symphony Orchestra were both residents of the Gabala Music Festival in Azerbaijan and toured Italy, France, Spain, and Switzerland.

A symphonic series with important soloists have been organized at the Franco Theatre in Kiev, with a great welcome by the audience and specialized critic.

Kiev Virtuosi perform and tour around the world and are starting a very vast and intense recording schedule for Naxos Records, with Chamber Symphonies by Shostakovich and Silvestrov, among others.
