Featuring pianist Bruce Xiaoyu Liu, winner of this year’s International Chopin Piano Competition, the Warsaw Philharmonic will perform Thursday, March 31 at 7 p.m. at Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach. Mr. Liu will be performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1, E Minor.
Maestro Andrey Boreyko is recognized around the world for his talent and achievements. The 2021-2022 season marks Andrzej Boreyko’s third season as Music and Artistic Director of Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. Now in his seventh season as Music Director of Artis—Naples, Boreyko’s inspiring leadership has raised the artistic standard and brought a new intensity to the Naples Philharmonic. The driving force behind the continued creative growth of this multidisciplinary organization, Boreyko continues to explore connections between art forms through interdisciplinary thematic programming.
The first prize winner of the 18th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition, Bruce Liu stands out as one of the most musically dynamic and technically gifted pianists of his generation. Described by The Telegram for his “powerful, polished, and emanates from a disciplined mind” interpretations.
Mr. Liu has performed with major ensembles including the Cleveland Or-chestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. He will be performing Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
